AV&V valve springs are manufactured from the finest quality spring wire. The highest quality and reliability is assured with rigid quality control procedures.

 

Their small O.D. of 1.460’’ prevents the engine builder to grind inside the rocker covers for clearance comparatively with the use of other springs on the market.

 

The chromoly 4140 steel retainers are the strongest and the most durable steel retainers offered.

 

Our high grade titanium retainers reduce weight and add strength to a performance valvetrain assembly. The reduced weight of our titanium retainers allows the valve to move more easily and will require less spring pressure to operate. This makes your motor accelerate more quickly and produce more power.

   
All our premium springs are made from an ultra clean high silicon and vanadium alloy wire; the best alloy available on the market for high lift and endurance applications. It is more costly to use this alloy to manufacture our springs but we chose not to compromise.

* Note : These springs are not bolt-in. Always make sure to check the minimum spring spacing and to keep a minimum of .060" before coil bind, at full lift.

You may need to machine the spring seat with Goodson spring seat cutter #VSS-1680HD and/or use AV&V upper spring collar kit #VR-530 and/or machine the valve seat deeper to get the correct spring spacing.

For example on late style Shovel (1980-1984), with a 1.630" valve stem protrusion, the spring spacing is +/- 1.375" so you need to gain an extra .105" to get the correct spring spacing.
